Linked to the Voice for Change Exhibition Here Today Here Tomorrow with run a participatory workshop looking at how traditional craft can be combined with modern communication technologies to create acts of activism.
Activities will include a presentation and discussion on ‘craftivism’, including yarn bombing and guerrilla knitting, and an introduction to social media as a communication tool. There will be a knitting and pom-pom making activity, and students will be invited to attach their own social/environmental message to their pom-poms. These can be left around LCF sites, and social media and hashtags utilised to continue the conversation.
