Lawrence and Eleanor will present a joint session taking two different approaches to the manifestos project. Although they’re from similar backgrounds, the two speakers have different (but complementary) views on fashion as sustainability. One approach considers how sustainability can enhance the commercial and strategic objectives of fashion business; the other how sustainability can fundamentally change the commercial and strategic objectives of fashion business.

During this session, both approaches will be discussed with a particular emphasis on understanding where your personal interest lies and how to think through these different types of working.

The session will cover a range of current and future ways of thinking about sustainability as a core element of fashion business, including the roles of authenticity, marketing, radical outsiders and incremental developments in instigating real, actionable change.
