Futuristic Bras: Centring Experience in the Design and Development of Bra Wearables.

An interdisciplinary approach for bra wearables design, weaving together designing for emotion, experience, and re-use and repair during consumption.

This theory and practice-based research delineates the field of smart bras focusing specifically on those with ‘wearable’ capabilities, i.e. smart, interactive, and E-textiles termed Bra Wearables. A woman-centred approach underpins the development of a design process which integrates women’s experiences as inspiration for design, with an emphasis on enhancing experience and prolonging consumption. This bra wearables design process concentrates on the early stage of sustainable innovation.
